New Bedford Donut Shop Introduces Trendy Dirty Sodas

A New Bedford favorite is shaking up its drink menu in a fun, fizzy way. GrandMa's Donuts & Coffee has officially introduced Dirty Sodas, a customizable soda drink that blends classic pop with flavored syrups and a splash of cream.

If you’re wondering what a dirty soda is, you’re not alone – and owner Hanna Lemieux gets that reaction a lot.

“It’s soda with flavorings and cream added to it,” Lemieux explained. “It sounds a little crazy, but it’s actually really good.”

What Makes a Dirty Soda “Dirty”?

The idea is simple but creative. Customers start with a soda they already love and then “dirty it up” with flavor combinations that give it a dessert-like twist. Think orange creamsicle, Dr. Pepper, root beer float, or cherry cola. Even Sprite can get an upgrade with flavors like peaches and cream.

“There’s all different concoctions that you can create,” Lemieux said. “So if there’s a soda out there that you like, you can somehow make it a dirty soda.”

The launch kicked off on Friday, January 9, making this the very first day customers could try the drink. Lemieux said she wanted to jump on the idea quickly.

“We’re the only ones around here, so I said I better hop on it before someone else does,” she said.
