NEW BEDFORD (WBSM) — New Bedford Police arrested a man following a seizure of narcotics and weapons from an apartment in the South End.

On Jan. 17, police concluded an investigation into an alleged cocaine distribution operation at 73 Mosher St.

Deshawn Hunt, 28, is charged with trafficking of cocaine in excess of 100 grams, illegal possession of two firearms and a large capacity magazine, and possession of a class B substance.

Hunt was allegedly found to have over 108 grams of cocaine and 4 Percocet tablets in his possession along with digital scales and packaging materials. Detectives seized $2,015 and also located two handguns.

Hunt was convicted of illegally possessing a firearm stemming from an incident in 2017. During that incident, shots were fired at a victim who was a witness in a homicide investigation.
