New Bedford Couple Granted Dream Wedding
How's this for a love story? You're 18 year-old Brian, with a crush on a girl named Sue in your senior class, but she's not allowed to date. So you drift apart after graduation, only to find her on Facebook 25 years later. After reconnecting and communicating for a while, you realize you're meant to be and move 700 miles to live with the love of your life. "They say true love comes once in a lifetime, but I have been more fortunate than most as I have found it twice in the same girl," Brian said in a statement.
But then you get sick. And the doctor diagnosis you with "cardiomyopathy." This is a "disorder that impairs the heart's ability to pump blood. After multiple hospital visits and surgeries, Brian's doctors told him he has just five years to live if he does not receive a heart transplant."
News of your story travels to a nonprofit organization called Wish Upon a Wedding, and they decide to plan your dream wedding for you, completely free. The organization grants weddings to couples who are facing a serious illness. Your love story was chosen by the organization to fulfill your dream wedding so you can focus spending the rest of your life with the love of your life.
I do not know the couple, but I went to high school with Sue's daughter, Candice. It is such a touching story and knowing that this local couple received the wedding of their dreams is amazing. Brian and Sue tied the knot on Monday, March 30, 2015. God bless your marriage!
