Each year, the New Bedford Homeless Service Providers Network works to help the city's homeless population any way they can. On Wednesday, October 24, an organization called "Rise Up for Homes" is staging an event called New Bedford Connect at the downtown YMCA. It’s an attempt to make connections with the homeless, offering services and resources under one roof. It’s also an attempt to reach homeless residents before the harsh weather sets in. This week on Townsquare Sunday, Jim Phillips speaks with Leslie Poulin and Jim McKeg, staffers from New Bedford Connect about the event, and how you can help to make it a success.

Townsquare Sunday with Jim Phillips can be heard each Sunday at 6 a.m. on WBSM 1420 and WBSM.com. Townsquare Sunday is a weekly public affairs program highlighting non-profits and community organizations in the Greater New Bedford area.

If you have a public event, festival, or neighborhood activity you want to publicize, submit your information here. You can also send an e-mail to Jim Phillips at jim.phillips@townsquaremedia.com. This program can also be heard by downloading the WBSM app.
