New Bedford Case Affected by Drug Lab Scandal Sent to Trial
The first local case affected by the state drug lab scandal returned to court today.
A spokesman for the Bristol County District Attorney's office says 32-year-old Nathan Martin of New Bedford was ordered continued to be held on $25,000 bail in Superior Court this morning.
Martin was arrested nearly two years ago on drug charges including trafficking heroin in excess of 100 grams.
Annie Dookhan, the so-called rogue chemist charged with falsifying drug samples, handled the samples in Martin's case.
Martin's attorney, Rene Brown, asked a judge this morning to release her client.
The judge sent the case to trial on December 3rd.
