New Bedford Beach Closures

The New Bedford Health Department  says East Beach located along East Rodney French Boulevard and West Beach located along West Rodney French Boulevard, as well as the beach inside Fort Taber Park are closed to swimming today.

Officials say rainfall over the weekend has increased the threat of elevated bacteria levels and the closures were made to protect the public.

Daily testing at these beaches will continue until water quality is deemed acceptable and the beaches can reopen to swimmers.
