NEW BEDFORD (WBSM) — New Bedford Police have taken another gun off the streets following an arrest in the city on Tuesday, August 20.

An investigation led officers to 306 N. Front Street, where they encountered Andres Cosme-Mateo, 21.

According to police, Cosme-Mateo was found to have a .38-caliber revolver, 39 rounds of 9mm ammo, and one 10-round high-capacity magazine.

Officers also located a bag containing a high-capacity magazine and 12 rounds of 9mm ammo.

Cosme-Mateo has no license to possess the firearm or the ammunition.

He was placed under arrest and charged with possession of a firearm and ammunition without a license, two counts of possession of a large-capacity feeding device and improper storage of a gun.
