Usage at the New Bedford Regional Airport saw a significant increase last year.

Thomas Vick, Airport Manager says over 12,000 people took flights out of New Bedford via Cape Air to Martha's Vineyard and Nantucket, a 10% increase over 2011.

Vick tells WBSM News the economy, a new marketing campaign, and other factors drove up usership.

Vick says most of the traffic occurs during the summer months, with people vacationing on the Cape and islands.
