Natural gas utility NStar says its customers can expect to pay an average of $4 less per month if a proposed rate cut is approved.

NStar has proposed cutting its supply price by nearly 27%, or about .39 cents per therm, down from the current price of nearly .53 cents.

If approved by the Massachusetts Department of Public Utilities, the price cut will save the average gas customer $4 a month beginning September 1st.
