Music Affects Us Physically
I've been told that shopping is better than sex. At least if you're not satisfied, you can exchange it for something you really like! But when it comes to music, listening to a song you really love can bring you joy akin to sexual pleasure. Have you ever heard goose bumps referred to as "skin orgasms"? That's what some psychologists call them when they're brought on by a particularly powerful piece of music.
What song gives you chills? What songs would you include on a playlist for personal intimacy time? Music's ability to trigger a physical response in us is dependent on our expectations. For example, if a song has rapid key changes, shifts in volume, or out-of-place notes, it's more likely to give you goose bumps. Bottom line: music truly has the ability to alter and improve our moods, physical states, and even our relationships! Now, shopping can't do all that, can it?
