Voters approved the Community Preservation Act at the polls last November.

Mayor Jon Mitchell is now asking the City Council to approve the creation of a committee to oversee the community improvement projects associated with the CPA.

Coucnilor-At-Large Linda Morad wants a public hearing to see how property owners feel about the CPA now that it's taken effect before moving forward.

The CPA adds 1.5% to property owners' tax bills to fund a variety of improvement projects.

Morad points out that all residents, not just those footing the costs, voted on the act.
