It’s True, Mirasol’s Cafe is Coming to Fairhaven & It’s Going to Be Big
Get ready, SouthCoast. The opportunity to get your CHiPPi fix from Mirasol's Café is about to get even easier.
After opening an express location in New Bedford this year, Dartmouth-based Mirasol's is expanding its brand. Plans have been set in motion for a third location in Fairhaven, promising the coffee we know and love with a few improvements thrown in.
Plans For the Fairhaven Location
Luis M. Raposo, the managing partner for Mirasol's, runs the day-to-day operations for the company and shared some insight on the new location coming to Fairhaven.
“Depending on approval and construction, we are probably looking at the fourth quarter of 2023,” Raposo said. “The landlord is going early November to the town for approval of the design, and we need to get state approval because it will be on Route 6.”
What was once the Benny’s Plaza is now a busy strip mall at 9 Peoples Way, with Family Dollar and O’Reilly Auto Parts. Next to that strip mall is a standalone, rundown car wash that will be knocked down and replaced with a brand-new build. It will be the new home of Mirasols 3.0.
What to Expect at Mirasols Fairhaven
While New Bedford’s location is a seasonal express option, the future Fairhaven location is going to be similar to the original location in Dartmouth, with a cozy dining area and a full menu. Pending approval, Raposo hopes to add a drive-thru to the new location, a feature that has not been possible in the past.
“Our hope is to be able to expand our brand and be able to give (our customers) access to another location without having to drive to Dartmouth, and allow a new way to get the product with a drive-thru,” he said.
Mirasol's is not aiming to become a typical chain. Raposo and his team pride themselves on being unique and aim to offer a pleasant experience with high-quality food, beverages and atmosphere.
And don’t worry, the CHiPPi will of course be featured at the new location.
“It’s a guarantee,” Raposo said.
For now, grab your Mirasol's fix in Dartmouth and New Bedford. Pending approval, the new and improved Fairhaven Mirasol's will turn on its “Now Open” sign toward the end of 2023.
