MIDDLEBORO — One man is dead following a single-car crash in Middleboro on Monday.

Middleboro Police responded to the area of 356 Marion Road at about 6:40 p.m. on Monday after receiving a report from a resident who said there had been a motor vehicle crash outside of her house.

Upon arrival, police found a red 2009 Hyundai Elantra had driven off the road and into a tree. The front-end of the sedan had sustained heavy damage.

The driver, Roger Duphily, 71, of Middleboro, was pulled from the vehicle by police officers who began to give him medical aid. Duphily was the lone occupant of the vehicle.

Members of the Middleboro Fire Department and Brewster Ambulance Service soon arrived on scene and transported Duphily to Tobey Hospital in Wareham where he was later pronounced dead.
