Mattapoisett Looks To Move Forward With Longer Bike Path

Within a few years, the entire Southcoast of Massachusetts will be completely connected with bike riders in mind.

Eleven towns and cities are participating in the South Coast Bikeway project, with many planning phases nearing completion.

Bonne DeSousa of the South Coast Bikeway Committee says Mattapoisett is nearly ready to break ground on another 1.2 miles of path.

Mass DOT will open a comment period on the town's plan to continue the path before approving the project.

When completed, the entire South Coast Bikeway will stretch from Swansea to Bourne.
