The Baker-Polito Administration is awarding the Southeast Regional Transit Authority $183,000 to create a pilot program, expanding night-time service for Fall River and New Bedford.

The program will last 18 months. The award is part of $5.1 million set aside for regional transit authorities.

Governor Baker says the grant money will help transit authorities create programs to provide more reliable service to riders in communities across the commonwealth.

A total of 20 transit authorities were selected for funding.
