I’m not gonna lie: growing, up I had a huge crush on Hilary Duff. I mean, we’re talking full-on Lizzie McGuire era. So seeing her name pop up tied to a college graduation? Didn’t have that on my bingo card, but I’m here for it.
According to Northeastern University, Duff will serve as the 2026 undergraduate commencement speaker, with the ceremony set for April 29.
A Fenway Moment With a Y2K Twist
Here’s the wild part: it’s all going down at Fenway Park in Boston.
Northeastern University said that Fenway has become the go-to spot for its large-scale graduations, hosting thousands of students and families for one massive celebration.

Honestly, when you think about who Hilary Duff is and how far she's gone, it all makes sense why she's clearly a perfect candidate for the job. From teen star to businesswoman, actress and mom, Duff is someone who’s reinvented herself more than once, which feels pretty on-brand for a graduating class stepping into the real world.

Safe to say, this might be one of the most unexpectedly fun commencement speakers we’ve seen in a while — and yeah, I kind of wish I had a cap and gown for this one.
