Massachusetts to Raise Hourly Minimum Wage in 2016
A boost in pay will occur in the state of Massachusetts on New Years Day when the state’s hourly minimum wage increases from $9 to $10 an hour.
According to Fox 25, the increase is connected to a 2014 state law that called for the minimum wage back then at $8 an hour to rise in three steps.
The jump up in minimum wage came this past January at $9. The final step, which is slated for January 1, 2017, will lock the state’s minimum wage at $11 an hour. This increase represents the highest scheduled increase by any U.S. state.
