Although you have the convenience of watching these types of movies any time of the year, there's just something about immersing yourself in them during Halloween.

Personally, I am not a big fan of slasher movies. I can do everything else, but the blood and gore is something I can do without. A touch of suspense and a few jump scares is enough for me.
For film enthusiasts, we know that New England has become quite the hub for filmmaking. Especially in Massachusetts, several movie sets have made their way to the Commonwealth, creating movie magic for the big screens over the years.
The iconic shark film Jaws has become a landmark for Martha's Vineyard after shooting there over 40 years ago. Another noteworthy mention is Leonardo DiCaprio's psychological thriller Shutter Island, which has ties to Boston Harbor and will have you covering your eyes in suspense.
