Eight members of the Massachusetts delegation to the U.S. House of Representatives and the Commonwealth's two U.S. Senators have signed a statement congratulating the Biden Administration for ending the relationship between the Immigration and Customs Enforcement Agency (ICE) and the Bristol County House of Corrections. You can't make this stuff up.

Let's be clear about what happened. Department of Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas has discontinued the 287(g) agreement that allowed Bristol County Sheriff Tom Hodgson to work cooperatively with ICE for the detention and supervision of criminal illegal aliens at the C. Carlos Carreiro Immigration Detention Center in Dartmouth. The arrangement has been successful since 2007 and has generated some $60 million for the Commonwealth of Massachusetts since then.

The Detention Center was awarded a plaque as recently as September after being audited by the federal government. This isn't about the condition of the facility or the treatment of detainees. This is about a political agenda.

Mayorkas is a Biden stooge who is responsible for the mess at the southern border. Under his authority, migrant kids with COVID have been stuffed in overcrowded cages before being released into the country. Mayorkas is a yes man without a plan serving a president without a clue about immigration issues.

The progressives that comprise our congressional delegation have worked side by side with Attorney General Maura Healey for years to dismantle ICE and drive it from Massachusetts altogether. They have succeeded, for now. Ask yourselves, why would these elected officials prioritize the "rights" of criminal illegal aliens over your safety and the rule of law? Their joint statement proves it to be true.

The statement, which commends the Biden Administration, says in part, "Every person has the right to dignity, safety, and due process. This decision affirms that right, and is a victory for the detainees, families, lawyers, and advocates who have pushed for more accountability and more humane treatment by the BCSO."

A "victory for the detainees, families, lawyers, and advocates?" What about the taxpayers? What about the citizens who seek protection from these violent, criminal illegal aliens?

Liz Warren, Ed Markey, Bill Keating, and Jake Auchincloss all signed on to this piece of garbage. As a matter of fact, it originated in Warren's office. Nice to know whose side they are on. As a result of their actions, your world just got a little less safe.
