A federal appeals court in Boston is taking up the case of who will pay for an inmate's sex change surgery.

Convicted murderer Robert Kosilek has been working to get the state to foot the bill since he was sent to prison in 1990 for strangling his wife. He recently legally changed his name to Michelle. The Department of Corrections is appealing a court's decision to approve the operation.
