Martins Wants PawSox In New Bedford

Ward Two Councilor Steve Martins thinks its time for city officials to put on a full-court press to bring the Pawtucket Red Sox to New Bedford.

The Pawtucket franchise was recently sold to Boston Red Sox CEO Larry Lucchino and a group of Rhode Island businessmen.

Martins is asking the City Council on Thursday night to send a letter to the new owners, asking that they consider New Bedford as a possible location for the franchise.
