Man Robbed While Waiting In Line At Store

New Bedford Police are investigating after a man was robbed while waiting in line at a store Wednesday morning.

Detective Captain Steven Vicente says the 66-year-old man was waiting in line around 8:30 a.m. to make a purchase  at the store located near Davis St. and Acushnet Ave.

A man then came up behind the victim and reached into his pockets.

The man and the victim wrestled to the floor during a struggle and the suspect was able to flee with a small amount of cash from the victim's pocket.

Vicente says the victim was not injured.

The suspect, described as a young, dark-complected male, was last seen running east on Collette St. then north through the yards before continuing east on Davis St.
