Man Reports Being Attacked Outside of New Bedford Bus Station
NEW BEDFORD - Police are investigating after a man claims he was robbed near the SRTA bus terminal in downtown New Bedford.
According to the victim, two men assaulted him near Mechanics Lane before 5:30 P.M. Wednesday. The victim told police he was struck with what he believed was a gun. His debit card and a small amount of cash was stolen. The man suffered minor injuries but refused medical attention.
He describes his attackers as two white men, one of them about 5'9" with broad shoulders, and the other about 5'11" with a thin build.
