Man Charged With Murdering Daughter In New Bedford
A Connecticut man has been arrested and charged with the murder of his 19-year-old daughter in New Bedford.
Gregg Miliote, Director of Communications for the Bristol County District Attorney's Office, says that a criminal complaint was filed Monday in New Bedford District Court, officially charging 45-year-old Walter DaSilva with the July 3 murder of Sabrina DaSilva.
US Marshals arrested DaSilva, formerly of Danbury, Conn., last Friday as a fugitive from justice on an outstanding probation warrant out of Middlesex County connected to an assault in the town of Weston in 2002.
Miliote says it's alleged that DaSilva shot his daughter multiple times, resulting in her death.
He was officially charged with murder, carrying an illegal firearm and unlawful possession of a loaded firearm.
DaSilva waived extradition and will return for arraignment in New Bedford District Court.
