
Maine Man Charged In Convenience Store Robbery
A man from Maine is facing charges following an armed robbery of a New Bedford convenience store.
Detective Captain Steven Vicente says a man, armed with a knife, walked into the Cumberland Farms at 810 Rockdale Avenue around 12:30 a.m. Monday and demanded money before fleeing with an undetermined amount of cash.
A short time later an officer observed a man matching the suspect's description jumping a fence near Florence Street and Mill Street.
The suspect, identified as 39-year-old Kevin Murray of Bridgewater, Maine, was taken into custody a short time and is being charged with armed robbery.
Noone was harmed during the robbery and the money was returned to the store.
