Local New Bedford Veterans Agent Reflects On 10th Anniversary Of Iraq War

This week marks the 10th Anniversary of the start of the War in Iraq.  The conflict claimed the lives of more than 4,000 U.S  troops. 

New Bedford Veterans Agent Chris Gomes served in Iraq, and was awarded a Purple Heart.

Gomes says his service was a once-in-a-lifetime experience, he wouldn't want to give back.

Today, Chris Gomes is helping Iraqi veterans and veterans from all wars learn about what services are availble thru the Veterans Administration.

He's also working with the New Bedford Career Center to find jobs for veterans returning home.
