The 48 Boston gang members indicted by federal authorities Thursday included one local resident.

The Herald News reports that 35-year-old Louis Whitehead, also known as "L" and "Little Man," is a Fall River resident.

Whitehead was indicted on charges of conspiracy to possess with intent to distribute five kilograms or more of cocaine, 280 grams or more of cocaine base, and 100 grams or more of heroine; and being a felon in possession of a firearm.

He faces a minimum of 10 years in prison, a maximum of life, and hefty fines.

Whitehead was associated with the Columbia Point Dawgs, Boston's largest and most powerful gang.

Authorities say the gang's infiltration of drug trafficking territories held by rival gangs led to numerous killings.
