Mike Couto is a local legend. Just ask anyone over 40 on the South Coast and they'll verify it. Mike started singing in 1963 as a member of The Country Squires, a folk-singing foursome, during a time Peter, Paul and Mary and The Kingston Trio reigned. Over fifty years later, Mike is still making fans laugh with his original songs that he used to perform as a duo, when his soul brother, bill Mulligan was still here. Together, they were the wing and the air, soaring from venue to venue, always packing the house with hometown fans.

Their musical magic was simple, melodic, lyrically over the top and fun to listen to. Now, Mike is launching his newest CD, All Of This Is Gravy, Wednesday evening, September 9 at 7 pm at the Wamsutta Club in New Bedford. Joining Mike will be other local musical headliners, also legends in their own right: John Harrison, Dr. D Dan Schwartz, Lisa Couto, Ian Rubbicco Legge, Ray Cook, Joe Zajac, Greg Faris, Tom O'Leary and Tom Poitras.

The new CD is filled with over fifty years of memories and a very special, beautiful and heart-touching tribute to his lifelong friend, brother and musical partner, Bill mulligan. Catch the show if you can, but at the very least, go to www.mikecouto.com and buy a copy of "Gravy". It's the perfect topping!
