Get your plastic bags and non-perishables ready for the 22nd Annual Letter Carrier Food Drive. This Saturday, letter carriers across the nation will be accepting food donations that will be donated to local pantries.

Letter carrier Richard Drolet says over the last several years, Americans have donated over 74 million pounds of food on the second Saturday of May every year.

Residents can put non-perishable items like cereals, beans, rice, canned meats and more into plastic bags, as long as they're not in glass containers. The bags can be left by your mailbox on Saturday for your letter carrier to pick up.

All the food collected will be distributed to local pantries including Catholic Social Services, Damien's Kitchen, PACE, and more.
