The socialist Democrat Rep. Alexandra Ocasio-Cortez has declared herself "the boss" in a wild-eyed rant. She wants to be "the boss," but will we let her?

New York Congresswoman Ocasio-Cortez has come a long way in a short time. Just a few months ago she was a waitress with school debt and a dream to be in Congress. She achieved an incredible victory when she ousted Rep. Joe Crowley in the 2018 Democratic Party primary. Crowley was a member of the Democrat House leadership team and considered a future Speaker of the House if things went his way. They didn't, and now we have a self-declared "boss" in his place.

While addressing a public forum the Queens section of New York City, the youngest person ever to hold a seat in Congress had a temper tantrum and declared herself "the boss"—the boss of what, she didn't define.

"Like I just introduced the Green New Deal two weeks ago, and it's creating all of this conversation. Why? Because no one else has even tried. Because no one else has even tried," she told moderator Reshma Saujani, founder and CEO of Girls Who Code. "So people are like, 'Oh, it's unrealistic. Oh, it's vague. Oh, it doesn't address this little minute thing,'" she added. "And I'm like, 'You try. You do it. Cuz you're not. Cuz you're not. So, until you do it, I'm the boss.' How about that?'"

Clearly, the young congresswoman isn't used to being criticized and she flipped out.

We don't elect people to be "the boss" in the United States. Elected officials in America are usually smart enough not to declare themselves "the boss."

The Green New Deal has been mocked and ridiculed because it is foolish at best and dangerous at its worst.

Fidel Castro, Josef Stalin, and Pol Pot all desired and succeeded at becoming "the boss," and they enacted plans that murdered millions and ruined their societies.

There is a reason we don't elect self-declared bosses in the United States of America. We are a Republic of citizens, not a collection of serfs. When will the Democratic Party put an end to this wild-eyed screaming fool?
