Kevin James Calls Rhode Island Fan Onstage and She Steals the Show
A local comedy show turned into a dream concert experience for one Rhode Island woman.
Liz Marty is a huge fan of Kevin James, so when she found out he was performing in Providence, she knew she had to be there.

"We had front row seats," Marty said. "We were right in front of him."

She had one of the best seats in the house, until this happened. "He was doing a skit and the skit was about how he hates fish. It was really funny. He likes chicken, he likes beef, but nobody should eat fish. Only cult members eat fish. It was just really funny. So, he wanted to sing a song about it," Marty recalled.
The tenured comedian pulled an audience member on stage to sing along, but to his chagrin, the fan admitted she couldn't sing and exited the stage.

Lucky for Marty, she got a second chance, but honestly it was one she wasn't clamoring for.
Taking Center Stage
"I was just sitting there enjoying the night and then all of a sudden, unbeknownst to me, my husband was pointing over my head," she said.
The gesture caught James' attention, which gave Marty the chance of a lifetime.
"It seemed like a second. I don't know, maybe it was 10 minutes up there. It was just incredible," Marty said, recalling the awestruck moment.
Her husband was right. Marty is no stranger to the mic; she's been performing for years.
Vocal Talent
This country rocker has stepped foot on many local stages and even opened up for some big names in country music like Jake Owen and Chris Young.

However, the lights got a little brighter for this Rhode Island native when she found herself singing alongside one of the funniest men in Hollywood.
"It was a surreal moment," Marty said.
The cherry on top?
"I turned around and he didn't expect me to say it, but I said I just have one problem. He turns around and he's like, 'What?' And I go, 'Well, I actually like fish,'" Marty said.
"That was probably the best part to me and the memory I have of it because I made him laugh just for a second," she said.
