The bad news keeps coming for disgraced former Mass. House Speaker Salvatore DiMasi. The state Retirement Board has moved to strip DiMasi of his pension.

The 67-year-old DiMasi had his annual 60-thousand-dollar-plus pension temporarily suspended since September before today's announcement from the Retirement Board. DiMasi has gone to court to try and get a judge to reinstate his pension.

DiMasi was convicted last year on corruption charges. He was recently diagnosed with throat cancer, and will lose his state health insurance benefits under today's decision. Retirement Board officials tell the "Boston Herald" DiMasi's health condition had nothing to do with their decision to yank his benefits.
