If you grew up here on the SouthCoast, you are familiar with the grandeur of Fairhaven High School.  Known as "The Castle of the Hill," the public high school looks more like it belongs on the row of mansions that adorn Bellevue Avenue in Newport than on Route 6 in Fairhaven.  Heck, it looks more like it belongs in Paris, France than it does in Fairhaven.

The high school is simply a work of art.  Henry Huttleston Rogers spared no expense when he decided to build the structure in 1905 for as a gift for the Town of Fairhaven.  He bought only the best materials, and made sure to include more intricate details than one could take in during a visit to the school.

So much thought and symbolism was poured into the plans and the carefully carved wood and stone work.  In the same way the art at a European castle tells a story, so does Fairhaven High School.  An art interpreter would have a field day at this school.

Enter Trig Photography.  The Acushnet photographer took a set of pictures back over the summer of 2017.  The owner's twin sons were set to become freshman that fall.  Frank Grace told us that he was blown away.  "I was not prepared for just how stunning and detailed Fairhaven High School would be in person," said Grace.

He says that the whole school is gorgeous, but he is particularly a fan of Room 7, which has the old-fashioned desks and the ornate ceiling.

If you think you've seen Fairhaven High, you haven't.  The pictures that Trig Photography took will wow you.  You'll never see the high school quite the same again.
