2023 SouthCoast Black Friday Store Hours

Thanksgiving may just be my very favorite holiday.  It comes stocked with three of my favorite things:  football, food and family (not necessarily in that order).

It used to be that most retail stores would be closed on Thanksgiving, and opened bright and early the following day for Black Friday sales.

Then, for just a handful of years, roughly 10 years ago, stores got excited about opening up at midnight for some midnight madness Black Friday sales.  In fact, when the Dartmouth Mall decided to open up at midnight on Black Friday for the very first time, we were there covering the story.

I was there.  I remember seas of people walking around the mall at 1 o'clock in the morning.  The sales were pretty decent, I guess.  Good enough to be shopping in the middle of the night?  That was debatable, however, the line to get into Victoria's Secret for their free giveaway is evidence enough that the idea was popular back in the day.

Best Buy, Target, Walmart, Kohl's and K Mart were all onboard with opening in the middle of the night for some shopping fun.

Then, as if it were waiting in the wings to pounce, online shopping became incredibly popular in an incredibly short period of time.

Now, in 2023, the idea of overnight shopping on Black Friday here in Massachusetts has all been faded away into nothingness.  However, people definitely still like to get their Black Friday on, so we compiled a list of SouthCoast stores and their Black Friday hours.
