The International Portuguese Music Awards have been a beacon of recognition for artists of Portuguese descent worldwide since 2013.

The 12th annual event takes place on May 4, 2024, in Providence, Rhode Island with a stellar lineup of performers. This will be an unforgettable evening celebrating Portuguese music and culture on a global stage.

Co-hosting this year's event are two prestigious personalities deeply connected to the region. Boston-born actress Daniela Ruah and Providence native Ricardo Farias will guide audiences through an evening of musical excellence and cultural celebration.

Among the lineup of world-class performers scheduled to perform on the IPMA stage is Bárbara Bandeira, one of Portugal’s most beloved pop singers. With an impressive resume including being named 2018 Golden Globes Portugal New Star of the Year and winning the 2022 MTV Europe Music Award for Best Portuguese Act, Bandeira's talent is extraordinary.

Next up is Joey Medeiros, a three-time IPMA winner whose music resonates with fans across continents. Born in California to Azorean immigrants, Medeiros's work reflects his diverse cultural background and worldwide popularity.

Celebrating their 25th anniversary as artists, the duo Anjos, comprised of brothers Nelson and Sérgio Rosado, promises to deliver a memorable performance. Their album Longe was a chart-topper in Portugal, securing their status as icons in the Portuguese music scene.

Adding to the lineup is Sara Correia, whose powerful voice and deep connection to traditional fado have earned her praise among critics. With a Latin Grammy nomination under her belt and a role as a mentor on The Voice in Portugal, Correia's presence on the IPMA stage is eagerly anticipated.

Nuno Ribeiro, known for his chart-topping collaborations with superstars Calema and Mariza, brings his renowned energy to the lineup. His hit song "Maria Joana" won international recognition, further solidifying his place as a well-known figure in the Portuguese music industry.

Rounding out the lineup is GNR, the legendary Grupo Novo Rock from Porto, whose pioneering contributions to the Portuguese rock scene have earned them the Medal of Cultural Merit from the president of Portugal.

The 12th annual International Portuguese Music Awards is scheduled for Saturday, May 4, at Providence Performing Arts Center. Tickets are available for purchase at ipmaawards.com and through the PPAC box office.
