Bristol County Sheriff Tom Hodgson expects some of the thousands of migrant children who crossed the southwest border into the U-S will find their way to Massachusetts, and New Bedford.

Hodgson is visiting processing and detention centers along the border with a delegation of Sheriffs to get a first hand look at the immigration crisis.

Despite proclamations by the President, Hodgson doubts many of the migrant children will be deported anytime soon

Hodgson says he still favors sending the children back to their home nations, and the Congress and President work on a plan to seal the border.

Governor Patrick said Thursday he still hadn't made up his mind whether Massachusetts will accept some of the children, but he did say Cape Edwards military base on Cape Cod is being considered as a possible detention center.
