Hit And Run Victim Identified As New Bedford Man

The District Attorney's office has identified the man killed in a hit and run crash early Saturday on Route 18 in New Bedford.

Spokesman Gregg Miliote says the man has been positively identified as 26 year old Cresencio Gonzales Mureno of New Bedford. He was pronounced dead Saturday afternoon at Rhode Island Hospital.

Police are still trying to find the vehicle involved in the crash. Investigators now say the vehicle may have been an Volvo XC90, or a similar type SUV. Police say the vehicle is blue and may have some front end damage or a leak in the undercarriage.
