Hernandez’s Fiancée Appearing in New Bedford Court Today
NEW BEDFORD - The State Medical Examiner's Office has officially ruled Aaron Hernandez's death as a suicide, and now his family is filing suit.
Shayanna Jenkins-Hernandez will file a civil suit on behalf of her and Aaron's daughter, Avielle, asking for an injunction to preserve all evidence in the investigation into the death of the former New England Patriots player.
The suit names four defendants; the Massachusetts Department of Corrections, Commissioner Thomas Turco, Secretary of Public Safety Daniel Bennet, and Superintendent of the Souza-Baranowski Correctional Center Steven Silva.
Jenkins-Hernandez and Hernandez's family lawyer are due in Bristol County Superior Court in New Bedford today at 2 p.m. for an injunction hearing.
