NEW BEDFORD — Multiple fire companies are responding to a fully-involved house fire in New Bedford's near-North End.

The fire was reported before 10:30 a.m. on Thursday at a three-story home at 98 Clark Street. Reports indicated that flames were seen on the exterior of the home and there may have been people trapped on the third floor.

When firefighters arrived on scene, a ladder was requested to reach a person in a third-floor window at the rear of the building.

As of 10:50 a.m. all firefighters were ordered to evacuate the building as the fire had extended into the third floor and the attic.
