Efforts continue on the SouthCoast to lessen the spread of COVID-19. Governor Charlie Baker recently set aside money to increase testing in eight low-income areas of the Commonwealth.

The Greater New Bedford Community Health Center is overseeing the testing program here. Tests are available free-of-charge in a tent at the rear of the center, and appointments are encouraged.

Community Health Center CEO Cheryl Bartlett joins Townsquare Sunday this week, explaining why getting tested is important:

Townsquare Sunday is a weekly public affairs program heard every Sunday at 6 a.m. on 1420 WBSM. The program highlights individuals and organizations working to improve the quality of life in Greater New Bedford.
