Handgun Recovered at Gifford Street Boat Ramp in New Bedford
NEW BEDFORD - A handgun has been recovered by New Bedford Police after they received a tip.
Police say they received information that a handgun could be found at the Gifford Street boat ramp near the city's South End.
At the ramp, police found a .40 caliber Taurus PT 24/7 semi-automatic handgun. The gun did not contain any ammunition and did not appear to be stolen.
Police could not determine the gun's ownership records.
The gun was found Wednesday at 9:56 p.m.
