Guy Fieri Visits Boston, Massachusetts

One of the reasons why we love Guy Fieri so much is that he gets so excited about food, it's just fun to watch.  Earlier this year, he got really excited about a Boston pastrami sandwich from a place that's been around since 1968.

Guy made a visit to Sam LaGrassa's in Boston where they claim to serve the World's No. 1 Sandwich.  In this episode of his show, Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives, Guy bites into a sandwich that nearly makes his eyes roll back into his head.

The place has had many name changes, according to the show.  It started as Providence Cafeteria, then they were Hungry Horrors, then they were Downtown Deli, then they were Providence Place.

Now they are known as Sam LaGrassa's where it's a family affair to serve the World's No. 1 Sandwiches.

In the TV episode, the pastrami is marinated in stock that they just keep rotating, coated with brown sugar and sliced to perfection.

Sam LaGrassa's does 1,300 sandwiches a day, just from their catering business, nevermind the actual restaurant.

The patrons said there's nothing they don't like about the pastrami sandwich, but if they had to pinpoint something, it would be the chipotle honey mustard that gives the sandwich that "it" factor.

One of his customer's on the show called the owner and chef, the Michelangelo of Sandwiches. Another said that no sandwich is bad there.

Now, being close the Thanksgiving, is the time for the "Gobbler," which is turkey, sausage stuffing, cranberry sauce, chipotle mayo, spinach and pepper jack cheese.  Yummo!

Sam LeGrassa's is located at 44 Province Street, Boston, Mass, which is about an hour away from Portsmouth, New Hampshire.
