BOSTON (AP) _ The partial federal government shutdown isn't knocking ``Old Ironsides'' out of commission.

Officials say The USS Constitution, the world's oldest commissioned warship, will remain open to tourists during the shutdown at the Charlestown Navy Yard in Boston. The Constitution Museum will also be open.

Nathaniel Shick, the 75th Commanding Officer of the USS Constitution, says the crew looks forward to sharing with visitors stories about the historic warship.

The ship earned the nickname ``Old Ironsides'' for its pivotal role in the War of 1812.

Other historic sites are being affected by the shutdown.

A spokesman for the National Park of Boston says the Bunker Hill Monument will be closed to visitors, through the grounds surrounding it will be accessible.

The John F. Kennedy presidential library in Dorchester is also closed.
