Gov. Baker Performing In Urban Improv Fundraiser
BOSTON (AP) _ Massachusetts Gov. Charlie Baker will moonlight as a comedian and performer to help raise money for an anti-violence group that works with local teens.
Baker is headlining the Friday night fundraiser for Urban Improv, which describes itself as an interactive program for young people that uses improvisational theater workshops to teach violence prevention, conflict resolution and decision-making.
Baker and his wife, Lauren, are among the cast of local political bigwigs supporting the fundraising event at the House of Blues in Boston.
Others include Attorney General Maura Healey, U.S. Reps. Jim McGovern and Seth Moulton, state Sen. Sonia Chang-Diaz and Boston City Councilor Ayanna Pressley.
Local news and media personalities are also scheduled to participate in the show.
