
Massachusetts Stars Amy Poehler and Ayo Edebiri Earn 2026 Golden Globe Nominations
The 83rd Golden Globe Awards will take place Sunday, January 11 at the Beverly Hilton hotel in California.
Though the excitement will be held on the West Coast, the East Coast may have something to celebrate that evening as well.
A couple of high-profile Massachusetts gals have once again been nominated for the talents on screen: Amy Poehler and Ayo Edebiri.

The award-winning actors may being adding some more hardware to their collections after the weekend. Nikki Glaser will once again serve as host for the 83rd Golden Globe Awards.

Amy Poehler
Poehler, a Newton, MA native, grew up in the Bay State and attended Boston College.
Her career really took off when when she became a cast member at Saturday Night Live, a job she had from 2001 to 2008.
Poehler went on to star in movies and television, most notably Parks and Recreation and as the voice of Joy in Inside Out.

No stranger to the Golden Globes, Poehler co-hosted the event with bestie Tina Fey in 2013, 2014 and 2025. She also took home Best Performance by an Actress in a Television Series - Comedy or Musical back in 2014.

Poehler's Good Hang With Amy Poehler is nominated for Best Podcast.
Ayo Edebiri
Edebiri also took the title for Best Performance by a Female Actor in a Television Series - Musical or Comedy at the Golden Globes in 2024 for her role as Sydney Adamu in The Bear.
The talented actress grew up in Dorchester, MA, where she caught the acting bug.
Since landing her role on The Bear, she continues to beef up her resumé, even landing a role in the new movie Ella McCay, which filmed in Rhode Island.
Edebiri's portrayal of Adamu received another nomination for Best Performance by a Female Actor in a Television Series – Musical or Comedy this year.
The 83rd Golden Globe Awards air Sunday, January 11 at 8 p.m. on CBS and streaming on Paramount+.
