Gambling Regulators Resume Boston Casino Talks
State gambling regulators will resume discussions on awarding the lucrative Boston-area casino license to either Wynn Resorts or Mohegan Sun.
The Massachusetts Gaming Commission will reconvene Monday at 11 a.m. at the Boston teacher's union hall in Dorchester.
The commission suspended last week's deliberations to give the companies time to respond to conditions the panel wants to impose on the projects.
The commission wants Wynn to consider redesigning its proposed resort complex in Everett, which includes a soaring hotel tower. It also wants Wynn to pay up to 10 percent of the costs to improve nearby Sullivan Square in Boston.
For Mohegan Sun, the commission wants it to secure $100 million more in equity for its proposed casino at the Suffolk Downs horse racing track in Revere.
