Lawn Bowling is making a comeback in New Bedford. The Friends of Hazelwood Park are raising money to refurbish the historic bowling greens at Hazelwood Park. The City of New Bedford is planning a Lawn Bowling and Croquet clinic on July 9 at Hazelwood from 9:30 to 11:30 am with more clinics planned on Mondays and Fridays in July and August. Champion Lawn Bowler Maurice Lafond of Rhode Island is consulting with the  Friends group on the project. He joins Jim Phillips this week to discuss the Hazelwood project, and why the game is special.

If you have a public event, festival, or neighborhood activity you want to publicize, submit your information here. You can also send an e-mail to Jim Phillips at jim.phillips@townsquaremedia.com. This program can also be heard by downloading the WBSM app.
