Four Arrested In New Bedford Drug Raid
Four men were arrested following a drug raid in New Bedford Tuesday night.
Detective Captain Steven Vicente says that members of the Organized Crime and Intelligence Bureau executed a search warrant at 77 North St. Apt. 2 south around 9:40 p.m.
The warrant was executed following an investigation regarding a cocaine delivery service that was allegedly being run out of the apartment.
Vicente says officers stopped a Nissan Pathfinder was stopped shortly after it left the residence.
The driver, identified as 22-year-old Joshua Merkman, and a passenger, identified as 21-year-old Wayne Bevaqua, were taken into custody without incident.
The two other suspects, identified as 22-year-old Dominik Daggett-Dextraze and 23-year-old Jamal Williams, were found in the residence and Vicente says cocaine was found in plain view on a kitchen counter.
A search of the residence resulted in the seizure of 50 grams of cocaine, cutting agents, packaging material, a digital scale and $170 in cash.
The drugs were reported to have a street value of roughly $2,000.
The four suspects are facing various drug charges and were scheduled to be arraigned Wednesday morning in New Bedford District Court.
