BOSTON — With a new documentary set to premiere, former Fall River Mayor Jasiel Correia's trial has been postponed several months.

In a tweet on Monday, U.S. Attorney Andrew Lelling announced the trial that had been scheduled for May was now being moved to September 14.

In September, Correia pleaded not guilty to defrauding investors, falsifying tax returns, and extorting marijuana vendors.

Correia is also the subject of a Mark Walhberg-produced docuseries Run This City, which streams on the new app Quibi, which launched Monday. The Correia docuseries is due later this month on the platform.

When elected in 2015, Corriea was the youngest mayor in the city's history at just 23 years old.
