Coachella has always been one of music's biggest and most expensive concerts every year. That's why we need "Porchella."

This year their were a record number of people that had to finance Coachella tickets. They can run in the thousands for both weekends, never mind grabbing your flights. The most expensive tickets were $1,599 plus fees for one weekend, and in case you didn't know, Coachella is two weekends. The cheapest was $649 plus fees per weekend.

It's insane to think we can literally finance anything these days, including our Taco Bell order. A wise grandparent once told me if you don't have the cash to buy it now, then you don't belong buying that. Times have changed, clearly.

With all the local SouthCoast talent we post about and talk about on Fun 107 almost daily, we literally have so much great entertainment in our own backyard. How awesome would it be to just have a live concert that you can watch from you porch?

We need "Porchella."

Ok, so maybe some logistics need to be considered here but overall with the warmer months approaching wouldn't he be nice to just relax on your porch with a cold one and enjoy some live and local entertainment.

Just look at Westport and the neighborhoods that have plenty of space to have a little  free local concert for everyone to enjoy, or maybe out in Acushnet.

Something similar already works in the Cape Cod town of Sandwich, where they have PorchFest.

I get it, nothing will take away the atmosphere and the vibes of a live show at Gillette Stadium or TD Garden, but if we are trying to be financially responsible while still enjoying some live entertainment, maybe we should consider organizing a little "Porchella" in your neighborhood.
